General Instructions and Rules
- The Library is open to all who have a valid BS Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science & Technology Identity card (ID card) treated as Library membership card which must be shown at the entrance or inside the library, whenever required. Who do not possess any of these is not allowed to receive any library facilities.
- Silence is to be strictly maintained in the Library.
- Seats and computer terminals of the library cannot be reserved.
- One computer for one user only, maximum using period 30 minutes at a time.
- The Library is a place for self-study; users’ behavior should reflect this and they should respect the needs of others.
- Persons using the Library shall abstain from any kind of discussions or group study and any other form of noise is not allowed inside the Library.
- The consumption of foods and drinks and the use of personal audio/video equipments without headphones are not permitted in the Library.
- Personal books/spiral bindings/envelopes/any kind of files/file covers/ are not allowed inside the Library.
- Mobile phones should be switched off inside the Library. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in a fine and/or expulsion from the Library.
- Users who have been found guilty of misconduct or who interfere with the comfort of others, make excessive noise, cause damage in the Library and disfigure or mutilate any Library material in any way in the opinion of the Library personnel, may be excluded for the remainder of that day and shall compensate the Institution for any damage caused.
- The Library has no accountability in case of damage or theft of personal belongings left unattended inside the Library.
Library Membership
- Faculty, staff, Research scholars and students of the institute are entitled to become library members
- Membership is allowed only after submitting a duly filled in and signed membership form, duly recommended by the concerned HoD / Dean or office order of joining in the institute. The members are supposed to be conversant with and agreeable to the Library rules.
Issue / Return Rules
- Users are divided into the following categories – their entitlements, maximum number of books and number of days of issue is proposed in the following table. Faculties have the privileges to get the text books issued for the whole of the semester.

Renewal of books
- Users can also renew the books again after the completion of the due date, subject to not being requested from another user.
Overnight Issue
- Books / Journals may be issued overnight to the members of the Library. This is only from the Reference section after 8.00 pm – 9.00 pm. The next day before 10.00 AM, the borrowed material(s) should be returned. If there is any delay by the member, then the respective member may not be allowed to borrow for overnight further. The number of documents members can borrow at a time is only one. There is a fine of Rs.5 for the delay in returning a book per day.
